Importing contacts
Importing contacts is one of the first things you will want to do for your customer.
The contact importer is available for your customer to do on their own, though we would encourage you the planroom administrator to consider doing the import for your customer, at least the first time. This way you can reach out to the ReproConnect support team if you have any problems and we can work through those with you.
Spreadsheet formatting
General tips for the spreadsheet you need to import:
- Have a header row labeling each column
- Break contact data into individual columns (address should not be all in one cell)
- Keep all data for one contact on one row
- If trades are being imported, have a column with clean 5 or 6-digit CSI codes
This should help minimize import issues. Save the spreadsheet as CSV before importing.
Import process
Log in to your customer's dashboard and go to the My Contacts tab. Start the import process by going to Actions -> Import Contacts.
There are three steps:
- Upload your CSV file
- Map your spreadsheet columns to planroom database fields
- Preview the data (and optionally add trades/groups) before finalizing
